DBS
I have an Enhanced DBS Check covering working with Children and Vulnerable adults for the purposes of private tutoring. This is on the update service with the Disclosure Number of: 00197534911. A copy can be viewed in person or a scan sent should needed.
Working in the home
Tuition taking place within the student's home will only be undertaken if an adult is present within the home should the child/young person be under the age of 18. Referrals by 18+ individuals on behalf of themselves or by parents will be handled on a case by case basis based on the needs of the pupil.
Third Party Locations
Should tuition be required without a suitable adult present tuition must take place at a suitable third party location (such as a library) that is a public space.
Online Tuition
Online Tuition booked via this website will predominantly be facilitated via Google Meet. Should an alternative be preferred this can be considered on a case by case basis. It is generally preferred for an adult to be present within the home during sessions where possible. Cameras and microphones are generally preferred to be on to support learning however where a student is anxious or their needs require them to have these switched off this will be accommodated.
Assistance with Self care
For younger or more vulnerable pupils who require self care this must be facilitated by a parent/carer/trusted adult. Some support can be given with hand washing or simple tasks if needed but will predominantly be the responsibility of the responsible adult.
Risk Assessments
Risk assessments may be discussed to be created or provided if a pupil is potentially at risk either to themselves or others. This will be discussed prior to acceptance of recurring lessons and will generally only be needed if in person or there is an expected likelihood that it may be needed for online lessons. Risk assessments can be completed by myself alongside a parent/carer/trusted adult if support is needed. Risk assessments for activities if needed will be completed by myself on a case by case basis and be provided to be signed for consent before said activity will take place.
