I am a Kent based tutor and I generally work in the following areas:

• Aylesham and surrounding villages

• Canterbury

• Herne Bay

• Whitstable

• Margate/Birchington On Sea

• Other areas will be considered on a case by case basis based on session length, availability and expected travel time. 

With less than 24 hours notice its 50% of the cost of the booking. For cancellation at or after the start time of the session (or a no show) it is the full price of the session. 

Yes I do! I work the majority of the school holidays at my usual times. However occasionally I do need a break and this will usually be during half terms but notice will be given well before this! I generally do not work over the Christmas Break period as I spend that time with my family and use that time to reset but I can always have a look if you're desperate for a session during that time. 

I very rarely am unavailable during the school term and I tend to work in line with the Kent County Council Term Timetable. 

I am not a teacher nor do I have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). However I do have 12 years experience working in Education, Special Educational Needs and SEN Provision specialising in 1:1 support. Working with students from babies up to 25. Teaching in a school is a significantly different skill set supporting an entire class - my approach is more bespoke to individual students. I do also hold a Masters in Education Specialising in SEND which while does not confer QTS (as this requires time in a school setting and 2 further years as an ECT) it does cover very similar academic ground in Pedagogy. I have worked in a Secondary Schools as a Supply Teacher again primarily supporting SEN students. Also I have overseen a class of students with EHCPs bespoke course at a Further Education College. I have also worked for a Bespoke Tuition Service in Referrals and Data Management as well as for a Local Authority Writing and producing EHCPs. 

I do not act as a SEND Advocate for families undergoing the Tribunal or EHCP process as I feel this is a conflict of interest. I can provide support in terms of written reports relating to the child/young person as evidence, however I am unable to directly involve myself in these proceedings. I can however look over an EHCP and explain anything you don't quite understand and go over the process with you if your not sure how it all works and the timeline of events within it. 

This will vary depending on Local Authority. You will need to discuss with your child/young person's caseworker about whether the money can be used for my services and we can discuss this further if needed on a case by case basis.
